Dolichogenidea luctifica

General description:

The following are unpublished notes taken in 2010 by Jose Fernandez-Triana while studying 1 female specimen from an undetermined locality deposited in the Naturhistorisches Museum of Vienna, Austria. [This female is one paratype from the species Apanteles anfitrion Nixon, 1972, which has been synonymized under D. luctifica].

The vannal lobe is slightly flattened and its medial part has hairs slightly smaller and sparser. The head is slightly elongated (rostriformis). Body colour black, except for brown palpi and all legs beyond half of femora yellowish. Mesoscutum with shallow punctures separated by about its own diameter, scutellum mostly smooth, with a few shallow and very sparse punctures. Scutellar lunules semicircular and about half the height of lateral face. Scutelar sulcus 0.07 x as long as scutellum, and with around 12 carinae (specimen has broken part of scutellum because of pin). Propodeum with scattered punctures all over, areola not defined but a series of short carinae radiating from nucha. Tergite 1 more or less rectangular, 1.5 x as long as wide at apex, mostly smooth in the apical half (where it has a broad depression) with longitudinal striation (like cells) in the apical half, specially laterally. Tergite 2 broadly trapezoidal and longitudinally striated (like Apanteles fumiferanae). Tergite 3+ smooth, T3 longer than T2. Ovipositor sheaths 0.8 x as long as metatibia.
